Shin Se Kyung’s height during elementary school was notable compared to her classmates, which led to her being nicknamed “Gorilla” amongst her peers.

Shin Se Kyung debuted in the entertainment industry at a young age for her unique features.

At 8 years old, her mother’s friend who worked at an advertising firm suggested Shin Se Kyung as the poster model for a campaign.

She made her debut through this poster gig, which became the poster for Seo Taiji’s first solo album, “Take Five”.

Shin Se Kyung, once known as “Seo Taiji’s Girl,” made appearances in several children’s TV programs such as “Kim Young Man’s Art World”, and “Let’s Play, Songi”.

However, due to her young age, she focused more on her studies than her entertainment activities and led a normal school life.

When she turned 14 years old, she appeared as Moon Geun Young’s friend in the 2004 film “My Little Bride” and enjoyed acting.

Through this experience, she began her child acting career, beating out a 500:1 competition in auditions to appear in “Toji, the Land”.

Two years later, she starred in the film “Cinderella”. Her academic performance declined with the early opportunity as a lead actress in her career.

She decided to experience normal school life after “Cinderella”, believing that indirect experiences for acting were also indispensable.

Director Kim Byung Wook cast her in “High Kick Through The Roof” after watching her performance in “Queen Seondeok of Silla”.

She won the Best New Actress award in the sitcom category at the MBC Entertainment Awards through her performance in the popular “High Kick” sitcom series.

Shin Se Kyung’s popularity landed her roles in movies like “Tazza: The Hidden Card” and dramas like “When a Man Falls in Love”.

Although she decided to take a break, she continued to make a hit with dramas like “Black Knight” and “Run On”.
