Jaeden Martell: Rising Hollywood Star with Korean Roots

tminews Views

Jaeden Martell, known for his roles in The Book of Henry and It, has a personal connection to Korea through his grandmother.

On the set of It, he approached director Jung Jeong Hoon and revealed he is of quarter Korean descent. Moreover, he grew up with his maternal grandparents and is well-versed in Korean culture and language.

Thanks to his Korean grandmother and mother, he has had a lot of exposure to Korean food.

When asked, “If you could only eat one food for the rest of your life, what would it be?” he stated that he loves rice cake soup so much that it would be his choice.

Martell recently turned 21 and shared a social media update, including a glimpse of new tattoos.

The intricate designs have sparked interest online, particularly the black image on his right arm, which is the one on the left side of the photo.

It’s the image of the renowned Korean actor Choi Min Sik. Judging by the voluminous hairstyle, it seems to be the character Oh Dae Su from the movie Oldboy.

Coincidentally, Oldboy was released in 2003, the same year Martell was born, which could be interpreted in various ways.

It seems Martell still has a keen interest in Korean culture.

Martell started as a child actor and has continued to work steadily in films and TV series. He is set to appear in a series of new movies, including A24’s Y2K, Arcadian, and Tunnels.

Martell has grown up quite well in many ways. We look forward to seeing him in a film directed by a Korean director or collaborating with Korean actors.
