SEVENTEEN Celebrates 9 Years with Spotify

Daniel Kim Views

Spotify is launching a global campaign to celebrate the release of K-pop powerhouse SEVENTEEN’s best album, 17 IS RIGHT HERE, on the eve of its 9th anniversary.

On the 29th, Spotify announced the start of the campaign by sharing a dazzling computer graphics (CG) video on its official X (formerly Twitter). The video features a giant 17 IS RIGHT HERE vinyl (LP) traveling through stunning landscapes to a city where it meets a building adorned with SEVENTEEN’s albums from the past nine years. The video was created to commemorate SEVENTEEN’s global popularity and journey.

Starting on the 3rd, Spotify’s K-Pop ON! official YouTube and video podcast channel will offer various exclusive content, including gameplay, interviews, and behind-the-scenes footage.

Furthermore, Spotify has disclosed SEVENTEEN’s critical streaming data. Since its debut in 2015, SEVENTEEN has recorded over 5 billion streams on Spotify, with over 24 million listener-generated playlists featuring its songs. Notably, the global streaming count for SEVENTEEN’s music on Spotify has grown by more than 95% annually, increasing by about 60 times over the past eight years.

The most-streamed songs worldwide on Spotify were “Don’t Wanna Cry,” “HOT,” “Son Oh Gong,” “Very NICE,” and “Rock with You,” in that order. The top listening regions are the United States, Japan, Indonesia, Philippines, Malaysia, India, Canada, Taiwan, Singapore, and Mexico. As of April 2024, SEVENTEEN, with about 6.3 million monthly listeners on Spotify, ranked fifth in the most-streamed K-pop artists globally in Spotify’s 2022 Wrapped year-end review.

SEVENTEEN thanked Spotify for bringing their music closer to their fans worldwide. They said, “We are always thankful to Spotify for bringing closer together our music and fans worldwide. We have prepared various activities with Spotify to celebrate our new album and our journey of 9 years, and we hope everyone enjoys them to the fullest.”
