Gérard Depardieu (75), a French national actor who has been stigmatized as a ‘sex scandal actor’ due to ongoing sexual allegations, has been summoned by the police on suspicion of sexually harassing film production staff.

AFP reported on the 29th (local time) that Gérard Depardieu, a French national actor who is accused of sexual assault, was summoned by the police on suspicion of sexually harassing film production staff.

According to the report, Depardieu is accused of groping the body of a set designer and making lewd remarks on the set of the film ‘Les Volets Verts’ in September 2021.

He is also accused of harassing and mocking another female staff member similarly on the set of another film in 2014.

The two women who claimed to be victims of sexual harassment filed a complaint against Depardieu with the authorities earlier this year.

This is not the first time Depardieu’s first sex scandal. Previously, in August 2018, actress Charlotte Arnold filed a complaint alleging sexual assault. The case was prosecuted at the end of 2020 and is currently on trial.

Actress Hélène Darras also reported a complaint that she was sexually touched during the filming ‘Disco’ in 2007. Still, the prosecution dismissed the case in January due to the expiration of the statute of limitations.

In addition, a recording was released in which Gérard Depardieu said to a local interpreter and a teenage girl during a trip to North Korea in 2018, “Women enjoy horseback riding because of sexual pleasure.” The documentary that reported this was aired on French public broadcasting.

He made his name for himself by winning the César Film Festival in 1981 and the Cannes Film Festival ‘Best Actor Award’ in 1990. His Representative works include 1900, The Thief and the Policeman, Bank Robber and Dad and Me, Camille Claudel, You Are Too Pretty for Me, Cyrano,102 Dalmatians, Public Enemy No.1, Life of Pi, Inspector Magre, etc.
