The girl group NewJeans’ latest single, “Bubble Gum,” has again proven its influence in the music market by achieving notable success on YouTube.

On the 6th, Their agency ADOR announced that the “Bubble Gum” music video had reached the top ranks of various domestic and international YouTube weekly charts.

Specifically, the ‘Bubble Gum’ music video achieved the top spot in Korea’s weekly popular music video and popular song categories. Also, it ranked 2nd and 5th in the global weekly popular music video and popular song charts, respectively. This success proves the unwavering popularity of NewJeans, which receives lots of love from fans despite various internal issues within their agency.

“Bubble Gum” is included in the new double single “How Sweet,” which will be released on the 24th. They have chosen an unconventional strategy of pre-releasing the music video before the song’s official release. Unlike typical K-pop groups, NewJeans’ “Bubble Gum” music video received high praise for focusing on lyrical visuals and natural storytelling.

Props harmonizing retro and modern sensibilities revive childhood memories by creating a unique texture. Musically, “Bubble Gum” uses the sound of a flute and a synthesizer to provide a refreshing feeling, and the clear and pure tones of the members comfort the listeners.

Moreover, NewJeans plans to release double singles with different concepts in Korea and Japan. The group announced they plan to meet overseas fans directly by holding a large-scale fan meeting at the Tokyo Dome in Japan next month. Their continued activities raise expectations of their potential for continuous growth in the domestic and international music markets.
