joynews24 Views

Amid the ongoing legal dispute between ADOR CEO Min Hee Jin and HYBE, NewJeans’ parents appointed a lawyer specializing in entertainment disputes.

According to a report from Yonhap News on May 19th, NewJeans’ parents appointed entertainment lawyer Kang Jin Seok on May 14th, ahead of the hearing for the injunction application filed by Min to prohibit the exercise of voting rights.

As per Yonhap News, Attorney Kang has experience handling numerous disputes regarding exclusive contracts for entertainers.

NewJeans’ parents submitted a petition to the court through the attorney. The petition is understood to state that all NewJeans members wish to stay with Min.

Before submitting the petition, NewJeans’ parents emailed HYBE’s management, protesting the similarity between ILLIT, another group under HYBE, and NewJeans.

Min is in a legal dispute with HYBE and appointed the law firm Sejong. ADOR’s temporary shareholders’ meeting, where HYBE is attempting to replace the management, including Min, is scheduled for May 31st. The court’s injunction decision will be issued before the temporary shareholders’ meeting.

The attorney introduced on his blog that he has been in charge of practical tasks such as reviewing exclusive contracts, terminating exclusive contracts, compensating for breaches of exclusive contracts, advising and litigating for entertainers, and bringing lawsuits for the return of investment funds for entertainment companies.
