Fans Outraged as Cube Entertainment Seeks Free Labor From (G)I-DLE Fans

Cube Entertainment found itself embroiled in controversy over allegations of exploiting the labor of (G)I-DLE fans without compensation.

Cube Entertainment posted a notice on the fan community Weverse on June 17, calling for (G)I-DLE fan supporters.

Cube Entertainment stated, “We are recruiting offline supporters from the fan club to assist with (G)I-DLE’s public broadcasts and fan club management.”

The announcement stated that fan supporters could apply starting on June 17 and would keep the recruitment period open until the quota of applicants was met. The company did not disclose the number of people but disclosed the application requirements and precautions.

Since there was no information regarding rewards and compensations for fans, it sparked accusations that the organization was requesting “unpaid labor” from fans.

Cube Entertainment has since updated the notification in response to the criticism. They also issued a press release stating, “Detailed information about the benefits and special perks of supporter activities will be provided to those who are selected.”
