The “Pikki Pikki dance” has made its way to American football.

According to online communities, three Dallas Cowboys NFL cheerleaders posted a video of themselves performing the Pikki Pikki dance on Sunday. This video has since gone viral, surpassing 1 million views.

But it’s not just NFL cheerleaders getting in on the action. Pop superstar Olivia Rodrigo joined the fun during her concert at Jamsil Indoor Stadium in Seoul on the weekend. She posted a TikTok video where she pretends to touch up her makeup before the song kicks in. With a laid-back vibe, she stands up and starts dancing, and as of September 23, that clip has skyrocketed to an impressive 13 million views on TikTok!

The Pikki Pikki dance originated from the “Strikeout Song Dance,” introduced by South Korean Kia Tigers cheerleaders in 2022. When a Kia pitcher strikes out an opposing batter, the cheerleaders stand up and perform this dance. Recently, a video of cheerleader Lee Joo Eun quickly standing up to dance while fixing her makeup as the song started playing has also gone viral.
