On Sunday, the group “Yoon Suk Yeol Resignation Demands from Filmmakers” issued a final statement calling for President Yoon Suk Yeol’s resignation. Following their initial statement on Friday, the number of participants surged to 3,007, including actors, directors, staff, and various film organizations.

The statement was signed by prominent filmmakers such as Bong Joon Ho, Park Chan Wook, Kim Jo Gwang Soo, Jang Joon Hwan, and Byeon Young Joo. Over 200 actors, including Moon So Ri, Go Min Si, and actor-director Cho Hyun Chul, also joined the call.

Earlier reports mentioned the inclusion of actors Kang Dong Won, Park Eun Bin, Son Ye Jin, and Jeon Ji Hyun in the first statement on Saturday, but it was clarified that other celebrities with similar names shared their names.

The filmmakers expressed that most citizens who witnessed the declaration of martial law reacted with disbelief, asking, “What were they thinking? Was this insane?” The filmmakers echoed this sentiment: “No matter how much cinematic imagination one employs, it seems like a delusion that has manifested in reality.”

They declared that Yoon’s presence was the greatest threat to the Republic of Korea and that removing him from office was essential to protecting the nation’s democratic republic. They emphasized that the most urgent task to restore South Korea’s status is to halt Yoon’s presidential duties. The group called for his impeachment and arrest.

Many celebrities have expressed their views in favor of the impeachment gatherings. Actor Kim Yoon Seok commented during a stage greeting for the film Big Family on Saturday, “It’s so cold out. I want to go, but we need to promote the film, so let’s watch what happens in this country this weekend.”

Actress Go Min Si posted a message with a candle emoji to indicate the time of the gathering: “3 PM.” Actress Shin So Yul shared a photo from the event and asked, “Please vote. How could this happen?”

Actress Go Ah Sung posted a photo of the National Assembly area where the gathering occurred, stating, “I dislike Korea X; I need to save the nation O.”

Several celebrities encouraged fans to attend the gatherings. Singer Lee Chae Yeon from IZ*ONE motivated fans through a fan platform on Saturday. Actor Lee Dong Wook posted, “Stay strong. It’s cold, so bundle up. Spring will surely come.”
