The group SEVENTEEN has set a new record, selling over 5.09 million copies of their 11th mini album.

According to the Hanteo Chart on the 30th, the initial sales (the number of albums sold in the first week after release) of SEVENTEEN’s 11th mini album, SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN, were tallied at 5,091,887 copies.

The album SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN, surpassing 5 million initial sales, is the first in K-pop history. SEVENTEEN has thus confirmed their unrivaled status by standing tall as the artist with the highest initial sales in K-pop history.

SEVENTEEN has sold a total of 11,043,265 albums released in Korea from January to September this year, earning them the title of ’10 million artists’. They are also the only artist to have surpassed 3 million sales on the first day of release and the first artist to surpass 5 million initial sales with a single album, rewriting the history of K-pop.

SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN has maintained the number one spot on the Oricon Daily Album Ranking in Japan for four consecutive days (October 24-27). It is sweeping local charts in Japan, including topping the album charts on major music sites.

The title track, “God of Music,” went straight to number one on major domestic music charts such as Melon, Genie, and Bugs upon release and has maintained its top spot. The song also topped the iTunes Top Songs charts in a total of 29 countries/regions, including Brazil, the Philippines, and Singapore. This track is the first male K-pop group song to top the Melon TOP100 this year.

SEVENTEENTH HEAVEN is an album name that changes the English expression ‘Seventh Heaven,’ which means a state of extreme happiness,’ into a meaning unique to SEVENTEEN. It signifies the moment of happiness everyone feels together at the end of a long journey filled with challenges and pioneering, along with the meaning of SEVENTEEN’s Heaven. It celebrates and savors the results achieved by SEVENTEEN and Carats, i.e., ‘TEAM SVT.’

The title track, “God of Music,” is a soul-funk-based song with a harmonious blend of cheerful synths and brass sounds. This song, with its funky and rhythmic atmosphere, is a festive-like song where you can fully feel the energy of ‘happiness’ as described by SEVENTEEN.
