A father who violently pushed his child off a swing in a fit of anger after an argument with his spouse has drawn public attention.

According to Channel A, on the 6th, an incident occurred on the 24th of last month at a playground in an apartment complex in Gangseo District, Seoul. A witness stated that a man, identified as Mr. A, approached a child who was alone on a swing and roughly pulled the swing. The child fell to the ground.

When the child got back on the swing, Mr. A pushed the swing to a height much higher than an adult male’s height.

The swing came back at a fast speed, and the child flew about 10 feet to the back of the playground and tumbled. Mr. A picked up the fallen child and handed her to a woman who approached.

A resident who witnessed the situation reported Mr. A to the police for child abuse. Upon investigation, it was found that Mr. A was the child’s father, and the woman who cared for the child was her mother.

The two were arguing at the playground, and in the midst of this, when the child kept asking to be pushed on the swing, he pushed the swing roughly in a fit of anger. As a result, the police booked Mr. A on suspicion of child abuse earlier this month.

Fortunately, the child only suffered bruises, but it could have led to a major accident as there was a metal fence nearby.

Netizens who came across the news reacted with comments such as, “That child will likely carry this trauma for life,” “The resident did well to report it,” “There must have been abuse regularly,” “Please protect the child properly,” and “This is too shocking.”
