Stray Kids Join 2023 BBMAs Lineup: A New Milestone for K-Pop

Stray Kids has confirmed their appearance at the 2023 Billboard Music Awards (from now on referred to as 2023 BBMAs).

The Billboard Music Awards announced through their official social media channel on the 14th (local time) that Stray Kids will join the performer lineup for the 2023 BBMAs on the 19th. With this, following BTS, Stray Kids will perform at the BBMAs, one of the top three popular music award ceremonies in the United States. They will showcase their status as the leading K-pop group.

At the awards ceremony, they will perform the title song, “S-Class,” from their third full album, 5-STAR, and “LALALALA” from their new album 樂-STAR ROCK-STAR. Mainly, they will celebrate their debut at the 2023 BBMAs with a performance of the new song “LALALALA,” which will be revealed for the first time at the ceremony. Previously, Stray Kids proved their global popularity by being nominated for Top Global K-Pop Artist and Top K-Pop Album at the 2023 BBMAs.

Stray Kids topped the Billboard main chart Billboard 200 for the first time in March 2022 with their mini-album ODDINARY. They then broke records by topping the Billboard 200 thrice in a row, with MAXIDENT in October 2022 and 5-STAR in June 2023. This year, with 5-STAR and its title song, “S-Class,” they ranked in 11 major Billboard chart categories, including the Billboard 200 and Artist 100. Notably, “S-Class” succeeded in ranking in the Billboard Global 200 chart for five consecutive weeks.

In 2023, Stray Kids is showcasing their prowess as performance powerhouses on the global stage. In July, they made a name for themselves as the first K-pop headliner at Lollapalooza Paris. Then, in September, they won the honor of Best K-Pop at the 2023 MTV Video Music Awards held at the Prudential Center in New Jersey, USA, with “S-Class.” The in-house producing team 3RACHA, consisting of Bang Chan, Changbin, and Han, captivated the local audience with an exceptional performance at the 2023 Global Citizen Festival in New York’s Central Park. Recently, Stray Kids, the first 4th generation K-pop boy group to complete a large-scale dome tour in five regions of Korea and Japan, a total of 10 times, Stray Kids 5-STAR Dome Tour 2023 is boasting worldwide popularity, including the news of their first appearance in Japan’s representative year-end special broadcast Kohaku Uta Gassen.

Stray Kids is sweeping various charts at home and abroad with their new mini-album 樂-STAR ROCK-STAR and its title song, “LALALALA,” which was released on the 10th. The album topped the Weekly Physical Album Chart of Hanteo Chart (2023.11.06-11.12) and the 45th week of the 2023 Weekly Retail Album Chart of Circle Chart (2023.11.05-11.11). It achieved double million selling just two days after its release, based on the Hanteo Chart. The music video for “LALALALA,” which offers visual pleasure, ranked first in YouTube Music Video Trending Worldwide on the day of its release and entered the YouTube Trending ranks in 74 regions worldwide.

Meanwhile, Stray Kids continues to soar high with their new album 樂-STAR ROCK-STAR and its title song, “LALALALA,” embodying their ambition to “have a real good time.”
