An accident occurred today (14th) at Everland’s attraction, T Express, due to a power outage.
Passengers aboard the T Express were terrified by the sudden accident.
According to a Yonhap News report, an accident occurred on the 14th around 3:30 PM at the roller coaster T Express in Everland in Yongin, Gyeonggi Province. The accident was due to a power outage.
At the time, the T Express reportedly suddenly stopped operating while in motion at a point several dozen meters above the ground.
When the T Express suddenly stopped operating, dozens of passengers were isolated for several minutes, trembling with fear.
Immediately after the accident, the passengers of the T Express reportedly came down using the stairs installed in the attraction with the help of Everland staff.
Fortunately, no injuries were reported as a result of this accident.
Due to the power outage, other attractions besides the T Express reportedly also momentarily stopped operating that day.
Mr. A, who was using Everland at the time, told Yonhap News, “While I was riding another nearby ride, the staff told us to get off midway because there was a problem with the operation, and when I got off, I saw that the T Express had stopped operating.”
An Everland official also explained to the media, “The ride (attraction) is designed to automatically stop for the safety of passengers when the power supply is cut off. It seems that the ride stopped operating due to a problem with the power supply from the Korea Electric Power Corporation, not because of a problem with the ride itself.”
This accident occurred around 3:32 PM that day when there was a problem with the power supply at a substation in Pyeongtaek, Gyeonggi Province.
At the time, a temporary power outage occurred in various parts of Gyeonggi Province, including Everland.
Meanwhile, Everland has announced plans for the operation of the T Express.
Everland recently announced on its official website, “The T Express is being reborn. We will see you again in April 2024.”
It added, “We apologize for any inconvenience to our guests. We will do our best for the best service.”
Everland recently explained through its YouTube channel ‘Tita Nam,’ “We are improving the first section of the T Express’s two sections. We are preparing to make it smoother and more enjoyable for passengers.”
