The group Stray Kids has recorded a consecutive 4-week number 1 ranking on the U.S. Billboard main album chart, Billboard 200.
On the 19th (local time), Billboard announced through a chart preview article that Stray Kids’ new mini-album, Rock-Star, released on the 10th, has entered the chart at number 1.
Rock-Star recorded an album sales of 224,000. Billboard stated, “All four of Stray Kids’ albums have debuted at number 1 on the Billboard 200. This is the first time since Alicia Keys,” and added, “It took 20 months for four albums to reach number 1. This is the fastest level since Taylor Swift (16 months).”
With this, Stray Kids has shown an impressive feat of climbing to number 1 for four consecutive works following last year’s Ordinary, Maxident, and this year’s third full album, 5-Star.
Stray Kids is the only group other than BTS to have ranked number 1 four or more times on the ‘Billboard 200’.
In particular, the title track “Lalalala” from Stray Kids’ Rock-Star also has the potential to make its first entry into the U.S. Billboard main single chart Hot 100. Billboard predicted that “Lalalala” would debut at number 92 on the Hot 100 on the 25th.
Meanwhile, Stray Kids is scheduled to perform “S-Class” and “Lalalala” at the Billboard Music Awards ceremony on the 20th (Korean time).
