BLACKPINK member Jennie has filed a patent for Jennie Ruby Jane with the Korean Intellectual Property Office.

According to information posted on the Korean Intellectual Property Office website, Jennie
has applied for the trademark “JENNIERUBYJANE” in 10 different categories.

Jennie’s full legal name is Jennie Ruby Jane Kim.

In response to this news, numerous K-pop channels have reported that Jennie has rejected a re-contract with YG Entertainment, with whom she is currently in negotiations, and is taking steps to establish her one-person agency.

Jennie had previously made her acting debut in the United States under the name Jennie Ruby Jane on the HBO series The Idol.

In the second teaser released by HBO, Jennie introduced herself as Jennie Ruby Jane, and she attended the 76th Cannes International Film Festival not as BLACKPINK member Jennie but as actress Jennie Ruby Jane.

Meanwhile, on the 14th, YG Entertainment stated, “As of the disclosure date, we are currently negotiating a re-contract with the artist. The disclosure, mentioning BLACKPINK, will announce the final result through a “future investment judgment related to major management issues.”

Then, on the 27th, YG Entertainment updated their artists’ profiles.

The individual profile pictures of BIGBANG, BLACKPINK, TREASURE, WINNER, AKMU, SECHSKIES, and BLACKPINK were posted.

However, G-Dragon and Taeyang, whose exclusive contracts have expired, disappeared from the artist section, leaving only the group name BIGBANG.

This has led fans to speculate that a green light has been given for a re-contract.

Meanwhile, BLACKPINK recently received the Member of the Most Excellent Order of the British Empire (MBE) from Charles III, the King of England.
