J-Hope’s Birthday Sparks Acts of Kindness: Fans Support Children’s Treatment

joynews24 Views

The Korea Welfare Services is launching the Go on Hopefully 2024 campaign to celebrate BTS member J-Hope’s birthday in collaboration with J-Hope fan accounts Carry Hope and HopeOnTheWorld.

The “Go on hopefully 2024” campaign will run for approximately 50 days, from January 15th to February 29th, in honor of J-Hope’s birthday on February 18th. The campaign will be conducted through the Korea Welfare Services’ website. The collected donations will be used to treat young children and purchase childcare supplies through the Korea Welfare Services.

Carry Hope, a Korean donation support group for J-Hope, donated 2.18 million won (approximately $1,830) to the abandoned animal adoption platform PawInHand last year on February 18th to celebrate J-Hope’s 30th birthday. In addition, it was revealed that J-Hope had donated to repair a shelter for abandoned dogs. Carry Hope followed up by providing supplies for neutering surgeries and donating 4.1 million won (approximately $3,430). In 2024, they are also raising funds to donate to the Gwangju City Cat Mom Association and Beagle Rescue Network to honor J-Hope’s birthday.

HopeOnTheWorld has been conducting donation campaigns to celebrate J-Hope’s birthday on February 18th, along with fans worldwide, since 2019.

A representative from Carry Hope stated, “We are continuing the good influence of J-Hope, who has been consistently donating, and this year, we have teamed up with the Korea Welfare Services. As fans of J-Hope, who is spreading a good influence, we plan to continue various donations, and we hope that fans will show a lot of interest in the campaign.”

Chairman Kang Dae Sung said, “I’m thankful to the BTS fan club for conducting a meaningful campaign with the Korean Welfare Services for sick children. We will do our best to contribute to a positive fandom culture where fan clubs, brought together by love for a star, show interest in the socially disadvantaged and participate in sharing.”

Meanwhile, A-Wave, the social campaign team of the BTS fan club A.R.M.Y., conducted the “I Your Hope, Your I Hope” point donation campaign in 2022 to celebrate J-Hope’s birthday with the Korea Welfare Services. The donation was used for childcare supplies, education fees, and emotional support for children living at the Child’s Dream, a shelter for abused children located in J-Hope’s hometown of Gwangju.

In 2023, while waiting for the discharge of BTS members currently serving in the military, they conducted the Flower Shoes Project every month when a member’s birthday falls, providing support and donations for marginalized groups. The donations were used to purchase shoes for disabled children at the Korea Welfare Services’ Amsa Rehabilitation Center, and subsequent volunteer activities were carried out.
