[TV Report=Reporter Kang Seong-hoon] INFINITE group member and actor Nam Woo-hyun (32) recalled his battle with cancer.

On the 4th (local time), the foreign media Sanli News Network released an interview with Nam Woo-hyun. In the video, Nam Woo-hyun said, “I wanted to give up,” and “It was a very difficult time,” evoking sympathy. He underwent surgery for GIST cancer, a cancer that occurs in the muscle layer of the gastrointestinal tract, in April last year.

Nam Woo-hyun underwent a 10-hour operation to cut a 20cm abdomen open and cut 2~3cm of the esophagus for rare cancer.

Nam Woo-hyun explained, “Two weeks into the battle, I was thinking why I am still breathing.” From the third week, he started thinking about how to recover. He also expressed gratitude to the doctors and nurses who treated him, the INFINITE members who cheered and took care of him, and his family, thanks to whom he was able to recover quickly.

Fortunately, Nam Woo-hyun’s current health condition has improved significantly. However, he mentioned that he gets tired when sitting for a long time and it takes a long time to digest food.

Nam Woo-hyun advised those experiencing the same symptoms to “exercise more” and to pay more attention. He then told patients not to have negative thoughts and to overcome the disease with all positive energy. “It’s nothing,” he said.

After battling cancer, Nam Woo-hyun continued his hard work by releasing his solo album “WHITREE” in November last year. Many people are sending him messages of support as he has returned healthier.

Meanwhile, Nam Woo-hyun debuted as a member of the group INFINITE in 2010. He is active in various fields such as music broadcasts, variety shows, dramas, and more.
