Currently serving in the military, BTS’s RM surprised fans by sharing a recent update.

RM took a photo alongside his friends on social media on February 24. Despite the recent haircut, his striking features captured fans’ attention.

Commenters responded positively by sharing, “It’s good to see that he seems to be doing well”, “It doesn’t feel strange to see his hair short because he’s had it short before”, and “The most striking youngest member of the military band”. Currently serving as a private, most people in the photo are likely his superiors.

A photo of RM wearing a red band uniform and holding a saxophone spread on social media on February 16. The person responsible for the photo said they saw RM when they attended a friend’s army training completion ceremony. RM is serving in the military band of the 15th Infantry Division located in Hwacheon County, Gangwon Province.

RM and group member V graduated as “Best Trainees” from the army training center last month. The “Best Trainee” award is given to trainees who excel in physical fitness and shooting evaluations. BTS’s commitment to excellence and a strong sense of responsibility are admirable qualities that will likely serve them well in the military.

RM is projected to be discharged from his military service on June 10, 2025, after serving about 16 months in the military band. Fans eagerly await his return and express their well-wishes for a smooth and healthy discharge.
