The upcoming general election on April 10th reflects a theme, judgment on the regime. Even though The People Power Party is ahead of the Democratic Party in party support, numerous voters feel the need to judge the Yoon Suk Yeol government in this general election. Also, about 7 out of 10 Koreans stated that they would surely vote in this general election.

On the 6th, Aju Business Daily commissioned Hangil Research, a public opinion research agency, and conducted a survey targeting 1,010 males and females aged 18 and over nationwide. Around 45.6% responded that the most important ideologies in the April general election are the rule of law, economic crisis, and the judgment of the Yoon Suk Yeol regime which is claimed by the Democratic Party and other opposition parties. About 37.3% responded that political generational change and judgment of Representative Lee Jae Myung should be dealt with as a priority which is advocated by the People Power Party.

The emergence of an alternative party to the hostile coexistence of the two major parties, which the so-called third area parties such as the Green Justice Party, the New Reform Party, and the Future Forward Party put forward, was only 6.8%. 5.9% selected other options, and 4.3% each for no opinion or no response.

The important ideologies by region showed a similar pattern to the supporting parties. In Busan, Ulsan, and Gyeongnam, 50.6% responded that cleaning up the activist circle is the most important ideology while 58.3% of voters in the Honam region selected regime judgment theory.

Also, by age, the main supporters of the People Power Party, those in their 60s (48.9%) and those over 70 (46.2%), answered that it is most necessary to clean up the activist circle. On the other hand, more than half of the respondents from teenagers to 40s chose regime judgment, and in the 50s, regime judgment (49.9%) greatly surpassed activist circle judgment (35.6%).

The highest support for the third area theory was Daegu and Gyeongbuk at 9.8%, followed by Chungcheong region at 8.1%, and Gangwon, Jeju region at 7.0%. By age, those over 70 (9.9%) were the highest. It is interpreted as high expectations for the third party in the traditional conservative support base.
