Rupert Murdoch Ties the Knot Again with 67-Year-Old Biologist

Australian media mogul Rupert Murdoch, who claimed to have found his last love only to end up divorcing the previous year, has tied the knot for the fifth time with a woman 26 years younger than him. Murdoch is currently 93 years old.

According to CNN on the 2nd, Murdoch, the founder of 21st Century Fox, held his wedding with the 67-year-old Russian biologist Elena Zhukova at his vineyard in Bel Air, California on June 1 and shared photos from the event.

Zhukova, a molecular biologist who studied at the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), is the ex-wife of Russian energy tycoon and politician Alexander Zhukov. Their daughter, Dasha Zhukova, is a philanthropist and art collector. She is also the ex-wife of Russian billionaire Roman Abramovich, the former owner of Chelsea, a team in England’s Premier League (EPL).

Murdoch led Fox Corporation and News Corporation for decades. He also owns numerous media outlets including the Wall Street Journal (WSJ), New York Post, and Fox News. He retired last November, passing the chairmanship to his son Lachlan Murdoch. The couple first met in August of last year through an introduction by Murdoch’s third wife, Wendi Deng, and Zhukova’s daughter. They announced their engagement in March this year and held their wedding as scheduled on the 1st.

Meanwhile, Murdoch is known to have fathered six children through his previous four marriages. Murdoch first married Patricia Booker in 1956, a former flight attendant from Australia, and divorced in 1967. He then married his second wife, Anna Murdoch, a Scottish journalist, and maintained their marriage for 32 years until 1999. Murdoch’s third marriage was with Wendi Deng, a Chinese-American entrepreneur. They divorced after 14 years, creating a buzz with an alimony settlement exceeding $847 million. In 2016, Murdoch married for the fourth time to former model Jerry Hall, who was previously married to Mick Jagger of The Rolling Stones but separated after six years.

Last year, Murdoch announced his engagement to Ann Leslie Smith, a former lieutenant of the San Francisco Police Department, claiming she would be his last love, but they ended up divorcing after just two weeks.
