Reuters reported on the 24th that Russian President Vladimir Putin expressed his gratitude to North Korean leader Kim Jong Un after returning home from his state visit to North Korea.
Through the Kremlin, Putin expressed his sincere gratitude for the wonderful event and the warm hospitality. He added that he was pleased with the constructive dialogue and close cooperation and hoped Kim would remember that he is always a welcome guest in Russia.
Putin continued, “I sincerely wish Kim good health and success in governing the country. This state visit has brought Russia and North Korea closer than ever before. Russia and North Korea will continue productive cooperation in various fields.”
Putin visited North Korea as a state guest on the 19th and signed a comprehensive strategic partnership treaty with Kim. Both countries agreed to provide immediate mutual military support in the event of war. Kim has previously described this treaty as elevating the relationship between Russia and North Korea to a “new level.”
