Apple’s iOS 18 update is expected to add five new features to the AirPods Pro this fall.

MacRumors

Apple plans to launch an iOS 18 software update this fall with new features for iPhone and AirPods Pro users. According to the media outlets, the iOS 18 update will have five features for the AirPods Pro that utilize artificial intelligence (AI).

1. Head Gestures

Users can answer or decline calls by moving their heads and without using their hands. This is activated by simply nodding or shaking your head. Interaction with Siri can also manage messages and notifications without voice commands.

2. Voice Isolation

Apple plans to add a voice isolation feature to the AirPods Pro with iOS 18. This feature allows coherent calls and reduces ambient noise. The AirPods Pro’s microphone detects ambient noise and uses machine learning to reduce it, prioritizing the user’s voice.

3. Personalized Spatial Audio For Gaming

The new software will provide personalized spatial audio features with dynamic head tracking for the 3rd generation AirPods, AirPods Pro, and AirPods Max. This feature offers immersive audio and the best wireless audio latency for mobile games. It also improved voice quality at 16-bit, and 48kHz for conversations. Game developers can integrate this feature to provide enthralling experiences.

4. Granular Adaptive Audio Control

The new iOS 18 will add a menu for more detailed adjustments to the existing adaptive noise control feature. With the iOS 18 update, users can fine-tune settings to adjust noise.

5. Hearing Aid Mode

Mark Gurman of Bloomberg mentioned in March that the AirPods Pro will have a “hearing aid mode” with the release of iOS 18. This update will provide various convenience features for AirPods Pro users.
