BoA Cancels Seoul Concert Due to Health Scare: What’s Next for the Star?

BoA decided to cancel her upcoming concert in Seoul, announced label SM Entertainment on Tuesday.

The K-pop star was set to perform on Aug. 30 and 31 for her fifth solo concert, but had to cancel after being diagnosed with acute osteonecrosis in her knee. This condition, caused by insufficient blood supply, leads to the death of bone tissue. BoA has recently experienced intensifying pain in the affected area and was advised to undergo surgery, the management company stated, apologizing for the short notice.

Despite this setback, BoA will proceed with the release of a new album in September to commemorate her 25th debut anniversary, as originally planned.

The singer celebrated her Japanese debut anniversary in May with a self-penned single and had intended to embark on a tour across Japan from September to November.
