Jungkook launches new account two years after closing one with over 50 million followers BTS superstar Jungkook has once again proven his global star power, amassing millions of new followers within 24 hours of launching his latest Instagram account.
Jungkook took to the platform for a livestream to confirm the authenticity of his new profile. In a subsequent Weverse Live broadcast, he explained the meaning behind his chosen username, “mnijungkook,” revealing it’s an abbreviation for “my name is Jungkook.”
This isn’t Jungkook’s first foray into Instagram stardom. He initially created a personal account in December 2021, which quickly amassed an impressive 50 million followers. However, he shuttered that account in 2023, citing lack of use.
As of now, Jungkook’s new account follows only the official BTS Instagram and the individual accounts of his fellow BTS members.
The singer recently completed his mandatory military service on June 11. Fans can look forward to BTS’s highly anticipated full-group comeback, slated for spring 2026.
