With a mix of classic and vintage
I wanted to create a cohesive feel in my home

Hello, I’m a mother of two children, aged 5 and 7 this year. I work as a freelancer, majoring in Western Art and Art History and contributing articles related to Art History or teaching art to young children.

Most of my daily life revolves around my children, so talking about my hobbies feels awkward. Apart from exercising 2-3 times a week after sending my children to kindergarten, I tend to immerse myself in housework, which is always challenging to maintain.

Interior through Reconfiguration Rather Than New Things

I am keenly interested in American vintage and Korean antique furniture, not just the popular Scandinavian vintage. I hoped that they would blend to create a synergy effect. I find it interesting how various items with their history and traces of time can fit together so well.

In the living room, I centered the decoration around a standing table in the American Danish vintage style I inherited from my mother. This furniture, which I had long coveted, is a product that can be used separately, with a stand on top of a marble corner table.

Next to it, I matched a 1960s vintage sofa from the British furniture brand to give an elegant yet comfortable feel. Despite being a 1960s design, it’s a design that’s second to none compared to other sofas, right?

On the opposite side, I gave a point with a Scandinavian design living room cabinet. I didn’t want a TV in the center of a space where the whole family gathers, so I moved the TV to the master bedroom and instead put a picture frame.

Next to it, I placed plants such as areca palm, rubber tree, and green beans on a Persian rug purchased in Dubai to help with air purification and interior decoration.

The Role of the Dining Table

I hoped the dining table would connect and separate the kitchen and living room in a not-so-large space.

In addition to eating, I’m using a slightly generous 6-person dining table so my children can freely study and play.

Hoping for Only Beautiful Dreams

I assigned space for the children’s room by separating the playroom with toys, bookshelves, and the bedroom where they sleep. I decorated it to make it a comfortable space to sleep with low mattresses and cushions.

In fact, when choosing furniture, I tend to focus more on the aesthetic aspects than functionality. I prefer wood and fabric’s natural and warm feel over hard and sharp elements. I also used rattan baskets for the children’s toy storage to keep the concept consistent.

Bedroom Harmonious with Natural and Vintage

The final space I’ll show you is the master bedroom.
