Spam Goes Healthy: New Spam Made from Chicken Breast Hits Shelves

CJ CheilJedang announced on the 26th that it will launch a new spam product made from chicken breast. It is the first chicken breast product among the Spam brand canned hams sold in 48 countries.

‘Spam Chicken Breast’ is a product tailored to the trend of high protein, low calorie, and health consciousness, combining protein-rich chicken breast, chewy chicken thigh meat, and flavorful chicken skin in optimal proportions to achieve a soft, elastic texture and taste, according to CJ CheilJedang.

The protein content is 17g per 100g, so one can of 200g can consume 60% of the daily nutritional value, and the calorie and fat content are low.

After more than 13 hours of low-temperature aging process, the unique smell of chicken was removed, and the clean flavor of chicken breast was maximized.

With the trend of ‘Healthy Pleasure,’ the number of consumers who enjoy chicken breast as a daily meal is increasing, and chicken breast consumption in the meat processing market continues to grow at an annual average of 19%.
