Italy Reveals the World’s Scariest Ride – Viewer Discretion Advised

① Why We Enjoy Scary Roller Coasters

Trazy

There are countless number of rides around the world. From rides suitable for young children to those set up under a particular type of theme and rides designed for thrill-seekers.

‘Thrill-seeking’ rides can be seen as rides designed to induce fear. Surprisingly, this fear factor triggers the release of adrenaline, endorphins, and dopamine in your body.

People enjoy the release of these hormones when riding amusement park rides, which is why they often seek more thrilling rides.

Numerous contents introduce “scary rides.” Specifically, roller coasters are often featured the most among them.

The scariest roller coasters in Korea include Everland’s T Express, Seoul Land’s Sky X, Gyeongju World’s Draken, and Daegu E-World’s Mega Swing.

② The Vertically Falling Ride

Recently, a video shot on a ride at an overseas amusement park has been becoming viral. The video shows the feet of people riding a roller coaster, the rails, and the surrounding landscape.

The video conveys a thrilling sensation even if you’re not riding it yourself. The ride in the video is the ‘Oblivion Roller Coaster’ at ‘Gardaland,’ Italy’s largest theme park.

As can be seen in the video, the Oblivion Roller Coaster drops in a vertical free fall, making it a ride where you can truly experience fear.

Like the ride’s name, you can experience a thrilling sensation that makes you feel like you might lose your memory after riding this roller coaster.

③ Attractions at Italy’s Gardaland

Italy is well known for its cultural heritage, museums, and nature. As a result, its amusement parks and recreational facilities are relatively less known.

Various recreational facilities have been built between Venice and Milan, near Lake Garda, the largest lake in Italy.

Gardaland, located here, is the largest theme park in Italy. Excluding Gardaland’s hotel and water park, the theme park covers an area of approximately 2.8 million square feet, similar to the total area of Gyeongju World Resort.

Currently, 33 rides operate here, including seven roller coasters. The rides at Gardaland are categorized into three types.

There are “Fantasy” for children, “Adventure” for the whole family, and “Adrenaline,” which children cannot ride. The Oblivion Roller Coaster is included in the Adrenaline category.

Gardaland is close to Milan, Verona, and Venice. There are direct trains from all three locations to Gardaland.

You can use the direct ‘Regionale’ train in Milan and Verona. The fare is 10 euros (approximately $11), and you need to get off at Peschiera del Garda station.

For Venice, you can use the ‘Frencciarossa’ train. Unfortunately, this train is more than twice as expensive as the Regionale. If you want to use the Regionale, you must transfer to Verona Porta Nuova station.
