From Ripped to Bootcut: Your Ultimate Guide to Denim Trends

daily Views

Denim trends are swinging from one extreme to the other. From baggy fits that drag the hems of their jeans to clean fits that neatly cuff the hems, there are various ways to style them. The runway has taken it further with embroidery, prints, and decorative details, as many brands use jeans as a canvas to unleash their creativity. From the return of skinny jeans to floor-dragging maxi jeans, where does the denim trend end? We explored the reinterpretation of denim styles on the runway.

Ripped Denim

The ripped denim trend from the 2000s, also known as destroyed denim, has made a comeback. Seemingly easier to style than one might think, throw on a basic top to a boldly ripped, frayed pair of jeans to look effortlessly cool. Dolce & Gabbana captured attention with a bold look featuring ripped denim, prominent button details, and a bra top.

See-through Denim

Remember the see-through trend? Transparent details are regaining popularity. Dolce & Gabbana’s skinny jeans are a great example of how denim can be sexy. The brand completed a bold styling by adding see-through details with black lace on indigo denim. Try the see-through denim trend If you’re tired of the same old style.

Embroidered Denim

Evoking nostalgia and bohemian vibes, embroidered jeans are at the top of mind with fashion enthusiasts. The familiar silhouette of jeans with colorful embroideries and elaborate patchwork reminiscent of childhood clothing stores was spotted on Chanel’s runway. Since embroidered denim exudes a bohemian mood, choosing basic items is wise when making an outfit.

Bootcut Denim

Blumarine perfectly recreated the Y2K mood of the 2000s by showcasing bootcut jeans that make the legs look longer on the runway. The brand added a perfect retro vibe by applying light washing around the thighs and knees and vertical stud decoration details. They styled the denim look with a sleeveless top made with tightly spun threads, creating a unique outfit.

Detailed Denim

The three-dimensional silhouette of denim is becoming more prominent. Unique jeans are created by adding beautiful jewelry decorations or details to denim. Take a look at Vivetta’s denim adorned with sparkling jewelry decorations. Owning one of these items can dramatically change the vibe of your look.

Maxi Denim

From coats to skirts, and now jeans, the trend of longer lengths seems to have no end! Floor-dragging long denim has surged as a hot item. Not only does its loose and relaxed silhouette instantly elevate your hip charm, but pairing it with a casual top can also showcase your trendy side. Are you surprised that it’s as simple as that?

Skinny Denim

Are skinny jeans out of style? Celine fired the starting gun for a revival with their skin-tight fit! Among the items resurfacing with the recent Y2K trend, skinny jeans are back, clinging tightly to the legs. After years out of the spotlight, skinny jeans are re-emerging as a trend this season. Top designers are already warming up by showcasing skinny jeans on the collection stage.

Low-rise Denim

Under the direction of designer Sarah Burton, Alexander McQueen’s collection seemed to redefine the concept of low-rise pants. As if to announce its resurgence along with the Y2K trend, low-rise pants caught everyone’s attention as they appeared on Alexander McQueen’s runway. It remains to be seen whether low-rise jeans, which extend below the navel, can be loved as a popular item.

Washed Denim

Washed denim that looks faded and worn out is back in style, evoking a vintage look. The formula of “bigger pants, tighter tops” works well with this style of denim, creating an iconic Y2K look. Complete the grungy yet trend-forward outfit by adding unique sunglasses.

Cargo Denim

Stella McCartney’s denim jumpsuit caught everyone’s attention on the runway. A full jumpsuit might seem difficult to wear, but it is more practical with large pockets borrowed from cargo pants. Simple to style, you can elevate the full jumpsuit outfit with sunglasses and a clutch bag, similar to the model’s runway look.
