A stapler is a must-have tool for office workers or those who use a lot of paper. However, sometimes it can be a bit inconvenient to use. Today, we will share two useful ways to use a stapler that will be helpful for a lifetime if you learn them in advance.
1. Using the Hidden Feature
The first tip concerns a hidden feature of the stapler, which is found in the round hole at the bottom. About nine out of 10 people use a stapler without knowing this feature.
To use it, press the button with one thumb. Then, rotate the protruding part to the opposite side. This can be pretty useful in certain situations.
This feature comes in handy when you use the stapler. By turning the base around, you’ll notice that the staple is now ejected outward. This makes it easy to remove the staples by hand without needing a staple remover.
If you ever need to remove staples, try using this feature. It’s very useful.
2. Using Tissue Paper
The second tip is to use tissue paper with your stapler. You might wonder why you would use tissue paper.
This method is beneficial when stapling thick paper. Thick paper often doesn’t get stapled properly, requiring multiple attempts, which can leave unsightly marks on important documents.
If you must staple thick paper effectively, try tearing off about 3 to 4 tissue paper squares.
Then, place the folded tissue paper underneath the area where you need to staple, as shown in the picture. It’s best to fold it to a thickness that feels slightly cushioned.
Now, use the stapler with the tissue paper underneath. The staple will go in perfectly on the first try, just like in the picture.
The staple will be sharp and protruding when you remove the tissue paper. So, be cautious and gently push the staple inward.
This way, even thick stacks of paper can be stapled cleanly in one go.
