Want Cleaner Blood? 5 Foods Help Purify Your Blood Naturally

wikitree Views

Have you ever thought about giving your blood a little detox? Your blood plays a significant role in keeping your body functioning—delivering oxygen and nutrients and even regulating metabolism. However, poor eating habits and lifestyle choices can cause impurities, like cholesterol, to build up and mess with its flow. Luckily, certain foods can help purify your blood and keep it in tip-top shape. Here are five must-haves for a natural blood cleanse:

1. Seaweed

Seaweed is packed with beneficial compounds like fucoidan, laminarin, and chlorophyll, which contribute to blood purification. Fucoidan helps prevent blood clots, while laminarin and chlorophyll keep the blood clean and healthy.

2. Sesame Seeds

Small but mighty, sesame seeds are rich in sesamin and sesamol, both of which are essential for keeping your blood clean. Sesamin prevents LDL cholesterol (the bad kind) from building up in your blood vessels, while sesamol helps reduce cholesterol absorption in your intestines. Sprinkle these on your salads or smoothies to keep your heart and blood vessels in great shape.

3. Garlic

Garlic is renowned for its health benefits. It contains compounds like allicin and scordinin. Allicin helps purify the blood by binding with lipids and acting on platelets to prevent clot formation. Scordinin promotes blood circulation, ensuring better flow throughout the body. Incorporating garlic into your cooking can enhance both flavor and blood circulation.

4. Citrus Fruits

Citrus fruits like mandarins aren’t just a refreshing snack—they’re also loaded with vitamin C and citric acid, which help purify your blood and relieve fatigue. The bioflavonoids in the white pith strengthen capillaries, and the potassium in citrus fruits helps flush out excess sodium from your body.

5. Squid

Squid contains taurine, a compound that inhibits the sympathetic nervous system’s action, which can raise blood pressure. Taurine enhances heart contractility, increasing the volume of blood pumped. It is also effective in preventing arrhythmias and heart failure.
