Get ready to lace up your skates—Paris’s iconic Grand Palais ice rink is back after a five-year renovation, and it’s more enchanting than ever. Not just any skating spot, the rink is nestled within one of France’s top cultural landmarks, the Grand Palais, initially built for the 1900 World’s Fair. Now revamped, the Grand Palais des Glaces boasts an impressive 3,000 square meters (about 32,300 square feet) of gleaming ice, making it the largest rink in France.

From December 14 to January 8, the museum’s main hall will transform into a sparkling winter wonderland. “We’re opening the doors wide,” says a museum spokesperson. It’s going to be the coolest place in Paris—literally!”

Imagine gliding over the ice, Paris’s crisp winter air on your face, all beneath the breathtaking glass dome of the Grand Palais. A Christmas market will fill the air next door with holiday magic and hot cocoa aromas. As the sun dips, the scene transforms: a DJ will spin hits while a giant disco ball casts dazzling light across the ice, turning the rink into an elegant, frosty dance floor.
