Step 1: Start with Flossing

First, grab your floss! It’s your secret weapon against food particles, and plaque stuck between your teeth. Your toothbrush can’t reach everywhere, but floss steps in where needed.

Here’s how to floss: Cut about 4-5 inches of floss, wrap it around your fingers, and gently slide it between your teeth. Take it easy—don’t go too hard on your gums.

Step 2: Brush It Off

Once you’ve flossed, it’s time to brush! Your toothbrush is your go-to for scrubbing any leftover gunk on your teeth.

To do it right, hold your toothbrush like a pen. Angle the bristles at 45 degrees to your gum line, and gently wiggle the brush back and forth—5 to 10 times—while sweeping away from your gums.

Step 3: Rinse and Shine

Now for the final touch: mouthwash! It freshens your breath and tackles any bacteria your floss and brush might have missed.

Opt for an antibacterial mouthwash to fight off plaque and keep your smile fresh. But don’t overdo it! Use the recommended amount—usually 10-15 mL once or twice a day.

Swish it around for at least 30 seconds before spitting. After using mouthwash, avoid eating or drinking for 30 minutes to let it work its magic.

Bonus Tips:

  • Kids should keep an eye on their rinse routine.
  • If you have a dry mouth or are a seasoned smile pro, choose alcohol-free mouthwash options. Your mouth will thank you!
