San Francisco International Airport has earned the title of North America’s best airport.
According to the San Francisco Travel Association, Business Traveler Magazine named San Francisco International Airport the top airport in North America.
The evaluation criteria included on-time flight departures and arrivals, customer ratings, sustainability, family-friendly facilities, and passenger experience.
SFO also won the Best Independent Lounge award, with the newly opened SFO Club at Harvey Milk Terminal 1 earning the top spot for lounges.
San Francisco International Airport opened Harvey Milk Terminal 1 this year after about four years of renovations. The airport expanded check-in counters and introduced an automated baggage transfer service to enhance the environment and improve passenger convenience. Additionally, the airport plans to invest $2.6 billion to renovate the aging Terminal 3.
Ivar Satero, the director of San Francisco International Airport, expressed her delight at the airport’s being named North America’s best. He added that the Airport staff is dedicated to ensuring travelers visiting San Francisco have a special experience.
San Francisco International Airport offers various amenities, including the Wag Brigade, an animal therapy program that helps relieve flight stress for passengers, an aviation museum, an indoor children’s playground, and a sensory room.
