Rolls-Royce, a brand synonymous with luxury, quietness, and ride quality, has long been a leader in bespoke vehicles for the elite. Known for producing sedans, coupes, and convertibles, Rolls-Royce expanded into the SUV market in 2018 with the launch of the Cullinan. This SUV quickly became a hit, becoming the brand’s top-performing model. But what if Rolls-Royce were to venture into the pickup truck segment?

The Virtual Pickup Truck Based on the Cullinan

On January 7, automotive virtual rendering artist Rostislav Prokop posted a captivating virtual rendering of a Rolls-Royce pickup truck based on the Cullinan. The rendering imagines a unique vehicle that retains Cullinan’s signature design features, such as its proportions and luxury elements, while adding classic pickup truck elements, such as a large cargo area and extended wheelbase.

Despite its luxurious design, the vehicle’s lowered stance creates unusual visual tension, as it feels slightly out of sync with the typical pickup truck profile. The rendering features a two-tone black and red body color, which adds a unified sense of style, enhanced by large black wheels and oversized red brake calipers.

Design Features and Modifications

The extended wheelbase and modified D-pillar are characteristic of pickup trucks, but the sleek lines and proportions maintain a distinct Rolls-Royce feel. The rear of the vehicle introduces the new volume, thanks to the addition of over-fenders and extended tread, further accentuating the vehicle’s robust yet elegant presence.

The cargo space is integrated seamlessly, maintaining an elegant look while optimizing aerodynamic performance. The rear glass appears almost vertical, contrasting with the elegant rear design. However, it subtly points to the limitations a pickup truck configuration would impose on the second-row seating area.

Details That Add to the Concept’s Charm
The Reality of a Rolls-Royce Pickup

The tailgate, designed to open downward like a traditional pickup truck, is adorned with lip spoilers that frame the Rolls-Royce emblem. Beneath the custom-designed bumper, large-diameter twin-muffler tips, and a carbon fiber garnish complete the luxurious yet powerful aesthetic. The chrome exhaust pipes further enhance the truck’s high-performance look.

While it’s unlikely that Rolls-Royce will produce such a vehicle, the concept of a luxury pickup truck is intriguing. If luxury tuners like Mansory or Brabus, which specialize in customizing high-end brands, were to take on the project, this concept could become a reality. Given the popularity of bespoke vehicles and the demand for unique luxury cars, such a model would indeed create a significant buzz in the automotive world.
