Bullet Flies Into Moving Vehicle: U.S. Military Range Proximity Questioned

A sudden and shocking incident occurred in Pocheon, Gyeonggi Province.

A bullet suddenly flew into a moving vehicle. It was a hair-raising incident that could have endangered the life of the vehicle’s occupant.

On the 25th, Yonhap News reported the incident based on confirmed information from the military and police.

According to the report, a bullet suddenly flew into the window of a vehicle driving in Pocheon City, Gyeonggi Province.

The incident occurred around 6:20 p.m. on the 24th on a road in Yeongjung-myeon, Pocheon City. A report was received that a bullet had lodged in the window of a moving SUV.

It was a potentially life-threatening situation, but fortunately, the driver was not injured.

A U.S. military firing range was found about 1km (0.62 miles) from the incident.

The military authorities have collected the bullet that flew in. Currently, they are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident with the victim driver and nearby U.S. military units.

Meanwhile, there was also an incident involving a homemade firearm in Pocheon at the end of August.

A man in his 60s who caused a disturbance by firing a homemade firearm in protest against forced execution was arrested.

The Gyeonggi Pocheon Police Station announced on the 1st of last month that they had arrested a man in his 60s on charges of obstructing special public execution.

The man in his 60s is accused of threatening court officials and creditors who came to a factory in Pocheon City for forced execution around 1:30 p.m. on August 29th with a homemade firearm.

The man in his 60s fired a bullet into the air during this process.

The homemade firearm made by the man in his 60s was a crude form that fired by connecting a spring to the back of a metal tube. However, it was reported that there was no problem in actually firing bullets.
