A shocking incident occurred when a man secretly entered his neighbor’s apartment. At the same time, she momentarily left her front door open and was caught rummaging through her clothes that carried her scent. The woman now has to move after the court rejected the arrest warrant for the male perpetrator.

On the 31st of last month, a man identified as B illegally entered the apartment of a woman, identified as A, who lives alone in a corridor-style apartment in Gwangmyeong City, Gyeonggi Province, according to a JTBC report on the 14th. When A came out of her room and saw B, she screamed, causing B to flee immediately.

According to the report, A had left her front door open for ventilation after returning from work and was tidying up her house. B, dressed in black, suddenly entered through the open door. He was found crouching in front of the laundry room, hugging the clothes A had set aside for washing and smelling them.

After B fled, A immediately reported the incident to the police. The police apprehended B within two hours. Until then, A was unaware that B was her neighbor living on the same floor.

After the incident, A, who had been staying in accommodation provided by the police, reportedly ran into B again when she returned home to feed her pet.

“I recognized him when I saw his face. He went into the last apartment at the end of the corridor,” A told the media, adding, “I never imagined he was my neighbor.”

The court rejected the arrest warrant that the police applied for against B. A, shaken by the incident, plans to move soon.

A vented to the media, “It’s so frustrating that the perpetrator knows where I live, but I don’t know where he lives.”
