The Los Angeles Dodgers have reached a major attendance milestone for the 2024 season, surpassing 3 million home fans. The achievement came during a home game against the Mariners on Friday. The Dodgers are the first team to hit this mark this year.

This milestone is significant, as it represents the 11th time in the past 13 years that the Dodgers have exceeded 3 million in attendance, excluding the last two years due to the pandemic.

As of the 23rd, the Dodgers attracted 3,039,362 fans to their home games. It significantly outnumbered the second-place Phillies, who drew 2,699,184 fans. The average home attendance was 48,243, exceeding the Yankees’ average of 41,970.

Shohei Ohtani’s popularity shines through even in away games. This season’s average attendance for away games reached a record high of 35,415 fans. During a two-game series at the Padres’ home, Petco Park, the Dodgers set a new record with an attendance of 94,556.

According to Dodgers fan outlet Dodger Blue, “The team’s signing of Shohei Ohtani during the offseason likely played a significant role in this success.” Ohtani’s popularity is also influencing non-Dodgers fans’ attendance.
