Shohei Ohtani, the superstar of Major League Baseball (MLB), has been recognized as the Player of the Week MVP for the tenth time in his career.

On Monday, the MLB office announced that Ohtani earned the MVP honor for the third week of September in the National League.

During the week of September 16 to 22, Ohtani performed spectacularly, boasting a .500 batting average with 16 hits in 32 at-bats, including 6 home runs, 7 stolen bases, and an impressive 17 RBIs.

His historic week peaked on September 19 against the Miami Marlins, where he achieved a monumental milestone by hitting 3 home runs in a single game. He finished that matchup with 6 hits, 10 RBIs, 4 runs scored, and 2 stolen bases, making him the first player in MLB history to surpass 50 home runs and 50 stolen bases in a single season.

As of now, Ohtani is batting .301 with 53 home runs, 123 RBIs, and 55 stolen bases, consistently setting new personal records. If he hits just two more home runs this season, he could reach the unprecedented milestone of 55 home runs and 55 stolen bases.

This latest accolade marks Ohtani’s tenth selection as the weekly MVP. After winning the award with the Los Angeles Angels seven times, he has already claimed this honor three times in his first season with the Dodgers.

During the same week, Seattle Mariners outfielder Julio Rodriguez was named the American League MVP, making his own headlines.
