Shohei Ohtani of the Los Angeles Dodgers started as the leadoff designated hitter against the San Diego Padres on September 26, going 2-for-3 with 2 RBIs, including two timely hits. Ohtani continues to perform exceptionally and leads the league in several statistical categories.

He has 53 home runs and 125 RBIs, making him a strong contender for multiple batting titles. His OPS is 1.028, with 130 runs scored, 396 total bases, 96 extra-base hits, a .642 slugging percentage, a home run rate of 11.64, and an ISO of .339, all ranking him first in the league. On this day, his on-base percentage rose to .386, putting him ahead of Marcell Ozuna (Atlanta Braves) and Jurickson Profar (San Diego Padres) for the top spot.

On September 20, during an away game against the Miami Marlins, Ohtani hit home runs in three consecutive at-bats, going 6-for-6 with 10 RBI. He reached the remarkable milestone of 51 home runs and 51 stolen bases and is also leading the RBI race.

His stolen base count stands at 56, ranking second in the league, while his batting average of .303 places him third. With only four games left in the regular season, Ohtani’s seventh year in Major League Baseball and his first season with the Dodgers is set to end with an incredible performance.
