YG’s new girl group BABYMONSTER debuts
Giving their best to show unique colors

YG Entertainment’s new girl group, BABYMONSTER, has announced their debut with the new song “Batter Up.”

YG revealed that the music and video for BABYMONSTER’s debut song “Batter Up” were released at midnight on the 27th.

“Batter Up” is a song that combines a dynamic track, kitschy chorus, and YG’s unique hip-hop. Its surging composition characterizes the song as it heads towards the latter part.

The title of the song means a signal to call the next batter in a baseball game, suggesting that it contains the ambition to become a newcomer that will change the landscape of the music market.

Members Asa, AKMU Lee Chan Hyuk, Treasure Choi Hyun Suk, and YG’s executive producer Yang Hyun Suk participated in the new song project.

The music video shows the members’ individual charms and the catchy choreography of them watching the ball fly over the fence with a fantastic swing.

The members said, “It’s a pleased day as we realize the dream we’ve had for a long time,” and “We’ve done our best to show our unique color that hasn’t been seen before.”

BABYMONSTER is the girl group that YG showcased about seven years after BLACKPINK. Their pre-debut song “Dream,” released last May, also topped the U.S. Billboard Hot Trending Songs.
