Ford’s F-200 Trademark Hints at Electric Pickup Revolution

Ford has applied for a new trademark for the F-200, which is expected to be a new electric pickup truck, on August 28, 2023. As expected from the name, it is positioned as a higher model than the F-150 Lightning (pictured above). However, the trademark application includes additional content related to gasoline and electric vehicles, pickup trucks, sports utility vehicles, and their structural components.

While no further information is provided, Ford’s F-200 trademark appears to be related to the upcoming sizeable electric truck. The nickname for the pickup truck is T3. IN FEBRUARY, Ford CEO Jim Farley revealed that Ford is developing its own electric vehicle architecture for the next generation of electric vehicles.

The new platform will support a full-size electric pickup (T3) and a three-row electric SUV (presumably the electric Explorer). The upcoming T3 electric truck is said to be capable of towing, hauling, power export, and innovations.

Jim Farley likened the electric pickup truck to the Millennium Falcon.

The new full-size electric pickup is expected to be produced at Ford’s Blue Oval City complex in Tennessee next year.

In July, Ford lowered the price of the F-150 Lightning, which led to a 600% increase in orders. However, sales of the F-150 Lightning in August decreased by 57% compared to the previous year. This was due to production disruptions caused by factory remodeling.

Ford announced that the factory is achieving three times its production capacity and aims to produce 150,000 units by this fall.
