Elon Musk Praises Chinese Electric Cars as Most Competitive Globally

globalautonews Views

Whole Mars Catalog, a renowned Tesla-specialized YouTuber, recently posted on his X account, referencing the world’s electric vehicle (EV) sales ranking announced by Clean Technica, a specialized electric vehicle media outlet. He stated, “There are no traditional car manufacturers in the top 10 anymore.”

According to this ranking, the top 10 global electric vehicle sales from January to August 2023 are the Tesla Model Y, BYD Song Series, Tesla Model 3, BYD’s Qin Series, BYD’s Yuan Plus (ATTO 3), BYD’s Dolphin, GAC Aion S, Hongguang Mini EV, BYD’s Han Series, and GAC Aion’s Aion Y.

Elon Musk commented on this, saying, “Based on experience, Chinese car manufacturers are the most competitive. At this point, the best electric vehicle manufacturer in China is Tesla China.”

He revealed in May on Twitter that his view of BYD, which was once ridiculed, has significantly changed. He mentioned that the recent competitiveness of BYD has increased dramatically.
