Porsche’s Latest Turbo Model Sets a New Standard in Distinctive Design

globalautonews Views

Porsche has announced that it will unveil a new, more elegant, distinct turbo design. Michael Mauer, head of style at Porsche, stated, “Since the introduction of the first turbocharged 911 in 1974, the turbo model has established its unique position as the brand’s top model. We want to emphasize its distinction from other derivative models like the GTS through the turbo model’s unique design.” He added, “We will apply a design that captures the unique sensibility of the turbo model to all series, presenting an elegant and special look.”

The new Turbo Night Metallic tone, meticulously put together by Porsche’s color and trim specialists, is exclusive to the turbo model. The gold color elements create an elegant metalizing effect alongside the contrasting satin-finished top layer. The rear lettering of the future turbo model, the Daylight Opening (DLO), and the side window borders will also be finished in Turbo Night. Depending on the model series, the Turbo Night color will also be applied to details such as the front apron’s inlay, spokes, or the lightweight alloy wheel’s aeroblade.

Furthermore, the Turbo Night color is emphasized on the turbo model’s exclusive crest, and it is applied identically to the crest located on the front, lightweight alloy wheel, and steering wheel of all turbo models in every series.

The trim strip, belt strap, and control devices, such as the mode switch and air conditioning control panel, will also apply the Turbo Night color differently depending on the model series. The Turbo Night tone completes harmony with the black interior through contrast with the yarn of the seat, door panel trim, dashboard panel, and floor mat.
