After delivering an impassioned State of the Union Address, President Joe Biden of the United States managed to raise $10 million in donations in a single day.

President Joe Biden’s re-election campaign said on the 10th (local time) that it raised more than $10 million in donations in 24 hours following a fiery State of the Union Address on the 7th, setting a new record.

The Biden camp expressed their gratitude to the grassroots supporters who are motivated more than ever to reelect President Biden, stating, “The President’s State of the Union Address reminded so many of our supporters who’s fighting for them and the stakes of this election for our freedoms, our rights, and our democracy.”

President Biden, who has been unable to recover from a slump in approval ratings due to internal divisions after the Israel-Hamas war and concerns about his age, is receiving positive reviews for setting the groundwork for a turnaround with his uncompromising State of the Union Address.

In his address, President Biden made a strong impression on Americans as a strong national leader by sharply criticizing Donald Trump, the confirmed Republican presidential candidate.

Ezra Klein, a columnist for The New York Times (NYT), who had previously advocated for President Biden’s resignation, even withdrew his demand for resignation on the same day.

He wrote, “If the Joe Biden who showed up to deliver the State of the Union Address last week is the Joe Biden who shows up for the rest of the campaign, you’re not going to have any more of those weak-kneed pundits suggesting he’s not up to running for re-election. Here’s hoping he does.”

Some 32.2 million people watched President Biden’s State of the Union Address on broadcast or cable television, marking an 18% increase from last year. The total number of viewers is expected to increase even more when you include those who watched through online streaming and social media.

In January, President Biden also raised $42 million, far ahead of former President Trump ($8.8 million).

However, comparisons may be complex as former President Trump’s figure excludes donations from affiliated organizations, and the period coincided with dispersed Republican donations.

Former President Trump, who is entangled in multiple lawsuits, is currently pulling in most of the political donations, which are election war chests, for legal expenses.
