President Joe Biden of the United States raised a large amount in donations immediately after his State of the Union Address.

According to CNN and other broadcasts, the Biden campaign announced on the 10th (local time) that it had received $10 million in donations within 24 hours after President Biden’s State of the Union Address. During his approximately 68-minute address at the House of Representatives in Washington DC on the 7th, President Biden filled most of his time criticizing former President Donald Trump, which was greeted with enthusiastic cheers from his supporters.

The Biden camp said, “The support of grassroots donors for President Biden’s re-election is stronger than ever,” and “Many Democratic supporters have reaffirmed who we are fighting against through this State of the Union Address and realized how important freedom and democracy are.”

Even in the U.S. presidential election where donations are particularly high, it is rare for $10 million to be collected in a single day. The Biden camp explained that the State of the Union Address on the 7th was the main reason for the increase in donations. According to the Biden camp’s explanation, President Biden earned $10 million from a roughly 68-minute address.

In his recent State of the Union Address, President Biden fiercely stated, “My predecessor (former President Trump) kowtowed to Russian President Vladimir Putin, which is unacceptable,” and “Former President Trump is the most serious threat to American democracy since the Civil War.”

The Biden camp announced that 32.2 million people watched the State of the Union Address, an 18% increase from last year’s address. The camp explained, “If we include viewers who watched through online streaming media and social media, the total number of viewers increases even more.”
