Russia immediately objected as the U.S. House of Representatives passed a support budget of $60.8 billion for Ukraine on the 20th (local time). The U.S. House passed a total package security budget of $95 billion (approximately 131 trillion won), which includes supporting Ukraine with $60.8 billion, with 311 votes in favor and 112 votes against.

Kremlin Spokesman Dmitry Peskov told TASS news agency about the passage of the U.S. House’s Ukraine support budget, “This will ruin Ukraine further and lead to more deaths of Ukrainians,” adding, “This is the fault of the Kyiv regime.”

Maria Zakharova, the Russian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, claimed on her Telegram that “U.S. military support plans for Ukraine will exacerbate the global crisis” and “Military support for the Kyiv regime, especially, is direct financial support for terrorist activities.”

Dmitry Medvedev, Prime Minister and close aide to President Vladimir Putin, also claimed, “The handling of the U.S. aid budget for Ukraine is based on Russophobia,” and “We will win regardless of the bloody $60.8 billion.”

Meanwhile, Volodymyr Zelenskyy, President of Ukraine, welcomed the news of the U.S. House’s passage of the package security budget in a statement, saying, “A decision has been made on the long-awaited, very important U.S. aid package,” and “Thank you to all Americans who believe that Russian evil must not prevail.”

President Zelenskyy said, “We will use U.S. support to strengthen both countries and end this war where Putin must lose.” He added, “The U.S. has shown leadership from the first day of this war, and this type of leadership is needed to maintain a rule-based international order and predictability.” He emphasized, “I hope the budget will quickly pass in the Senate and be delivered to President Biden.”
