China’s unfairness → Damage to U.S. workers

The United States is set to announce a new tariff policy on Chinese products. President Joe Biden is expected to announce the details himself.

On the 13th, National Security Advisor Jake Sullivan announced this during a press briefing and answered, “We will announce the specific details soon.”

He explained, “It’s no secret that the President and this administration have been concerned about China’s unfair practices and overproduction issues that damage U.S. workers and businesses, as well as a series of non-market and market-distorting practices that China has introduced in strategic sectors.”

President Biden will announce new tariffs on Chinese products in strategically important industries, such as electric vehicles, batteries, and semiconductors, as early as the 14th.

Reuters reported that day, “We plan to announce new Chinese tariffs, including a significant increase in charges on Chinese electric vehicles,” and added, “This measure could draw a significant response from China.
