During a congressional speech by John Rose, a Republican representative, his young son captured the attention by making a funny face.
According to The New York Times on the 3rd, Rose defended former President Donald Trump, who was recently found guilty in a sexual harassment hush-money case, during his 5-minute speech in Congress.
However, the spotlight was not on his speech but on his 6-year-old son, Guy, sitting behind him.
While his father passionately stated that he could not accept the 34 charges applied to former President Trump, his son made faces, stuck out his tongue at the camera, and played around with the camera.
This scene was broadcast nationwide through C-SPAN, a non-profit channel in the U.S. The boy made playful expressions and eventually took a rubber ball from his pocket to play with out of boredom.
Rose said he had no idea what was happening behind him.
“This is what I get for telling my son Guy to smile at the camera for his little brother,” he later wrote on X, along with a shrugging emoji.
