25 Killed, Including 13 Children, as IDF Operations Escalate

The Israeli Defense Forces (IDF) have escalated operations in northern Gaza, resulting in a sharp increase in civilian casualties. Airstrikes in Jabaliya on Sunday left 25 dead, including 13 children, and injured 30 more. Another strike hit the Sabra neighborhood in Gaza City, where at least five people were killed, with others still unaccounted for.

Gaza Civil Defense officials report that numerous civilians remain trapped beneath the rubble, hampering rescue efforts. The IDF has been conducting aggressive operations in northern Gaza since early last month, targeting what they claim are Hamas weapon caches and terrorist infrastructure in the Jabaliya region.

While Israeli military officials assert these strikes are necessary defensive measures to prevent terrorist regrouping, the mounting civilian toll has sparked growing international concern and criticism.

The violence has spread beyond Gaza, with Israeli airstrikes in Lebanon claiming 23 lives, including seven children, according to Lebanon’s Ministry of Health. Strikes hit areas like Al-Mat, a village north of Beirut, leading to widespread casualties.

As the crisis deepens in both Gaza and Lebanon, casualties continue to rise on all sides. The Hamas-controlled Gaza Health Ministry reports that 43,603 Palestinians have been killed and 102,929 injured since the conflict began in October of last year. This tally includes both civilians and combatants. Lebanon has reported over 3,310 deaths during the same period.

With rising fatalities and no clear resolution in sight, the region remains locked in a cycle of violence and reprisal.
