Kremlin Watches Trump’s Greenland Acquisition Plans as Tensions Rise

Fox News reported on Thursday that the Kremlin is closely monitoring President-elect Donald Trump’s ambition to acquire Greenland.

Kremlin spokesperson Dmitry Peskov stated, “The Arctic is a region of our national and strategic interests.”

The Kremlin noted that it is observing Trump’s “dramatic” statements about purchasing Greenland ahead of his inauguration this month.

European leaders criticized Trump for suggesting that military force or economic pressure to claim Danish territory or the Panama Canal could not be ruled out. German Chancellor Olaf Scholz reminded Trump that national sovereignty is a fundamental principle of international law and a core part of Western values.
